It was in the 1970s when Siegfried Borho visualized what the land located between the Pego-Oliva marsh and the virgin beaches of the area could become. So far (CHG) Construcciones Hispano Germanas, the developer led by this German entrepreneur, had focused all its efforts on the town of Denia, about 20 kilometers away, but the company was already consolidated, and it was time to take the leap and expand.
Although not everyone was able to imagine what is now known as Oliva Nova, Siegfried and his team started building the complex in 1992. They first built a small six-apartment building that in 1993 would become the hotel; later they followed,
with an 18-hole golf course designed by legendary Severiano Ballesteros; in the 2000s, four natural grass playing fields were built to attract professional soccer and rugby teams; and in 2012, the equestrian center, one of the most renowned and valued by professional riders and horsewomen around the world.
Today, and after 30 years of being the benchmark place of the Costa Blanca, Oliva Nova has an area of 1.6 million m2 and houses all types of accommodation and luxury homes, paddle
tennis courts, four soccer fields for professionals and amateurs, a wellness center with spa and gym, as well as offering a wide range of services that make your stay on the Mediterranean front line exceptional.
Since 2009, Carlos, Carolina, Cristina, Luis and Pablo, the businessman’s children, have been working to keep their father’s spirit alive and to ensure that Oliva Nova continues to be a welcoming, family-oriented place to live and spend quality time.
