LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR
There’s something about the Mediterranean summer that almost instinctively invites us to slow down. The sea sets its own pace and the days stretch out long enough to do two things we barely find time for the rest of the year: to move around with no rush and get some real rest. At Oliva Nova, we also want that break to be in a place where your body can breathe, your mind can rest, and you can share your time with no haste.
I am pleased to present the 13th issue of ON Magazine, which captures an idea that seems more necessary than ever in 2026: taking care of yourself is not about following a specific method, but about being in a place where looking after yourself comes naturally. In Oliva Nova, very different people gather throughout the year—teams preparing for the World Cup, runners coming to break personal bests, families with toddlers discovering the beach—but they all find the same ecosystem: quality rest, sport in the open air, contact with nature, and the chance to take your time. For some it’s about getting ready for a big day; for others, it’s a way of life.
The following pages take up that common theme. You’ll discover the sports team, with Guillermo Mejorada at the helm, explaining how to plan an elite training camp. There’s an account of the record-breaking half marathon and 5K that are becoming a benchmark in the Valencia region. We also take a look at the trails around the resort with an emphasis on anti-stress. Then we have a liquid suggestion for every time of day. And we delve into the ecosystem of services that makes the housing in Oliva Nova a destination in itself to disconnect all year round.
In an increasingly fast-paced world ruled by screens, where rest has become a scarce commodity, this resort provides the antidote. It is not a passive retreat, but provides an active, Mediterranean lifestyle; an outdoors one where your body and mind can regain their balance in an environment that helps do just that. Strolling calmly on the beach, playing padel tennis at sunset, rounding off the day with hearty after-dinner conversation, or simply watching the kids enjoy playing in the sun are all ways of taking care of yourself.
None of this would be possible without the people behind Oliva Nova day after day. Their quiet but necessary work is what turns a promise into a real experience.
May every step you take around Oliva Nova this summer serve to take a break, to move around, and to reconnect.
Thank you for joining us for another summer.
With my sincerest gratitude,
Luis Borho
