The greenkeepers in Oliva Nova at working to keep the golf course in top shape for our golfers to enjoy the experience of playing in one of the best courses in the Mediterranean.

The hollow tinning process is carried out from 24th to 30th August. These maintenance works are very important to achieve firm and healthy greens, with a good speed when putting. The greens are being aerated by removing cores of turf (thatch) from the putting surfaces. We are not only avoiding diseases, but we also want to provide a fantastic golf experience to our players. Immediately after they are cored, sand is brushed into the holes as part of their top-dressing procedure. Compaction relief and improved surface performance are the benefits of aeration and, thus, the golf ball go smoothly on the grass.

And, from September 28th to October 1st, we will proceed to the reseeding of the golf course to continue ensuring an optimal state of the land. We cut the grass plant vertically at the fairways, so that the ryegrass seeds are put down and they can grow properly. This ensures the fairway’s health in the winter. With proper watering, germination and time, the greenkeepers will keep the fairways are in the best possible conditions and that the field takes its colour so characteristic green.
