The Resort will be positioned as a reference destination for the practice of padel in Spain thanks to the agreement with the British company Game4Padel, and the strategy of tourism deseasonalisation through sport continues in the area.
Oliva Nova Beach & Golf Resort bets high on sport again with the partnership agreement signed by the tourist destination and the company Game4Padel, the UK’s leading padel operator thanks to a diverse group of experienced ambassadors such as the former world no.1 tennis player Andy Murray.
The project consists of refurbishing the existing facilities and building seven new padel courts, one of them specially designed to host major tournaments. The company in charge of the construction of the courts is Padel Courts Deluxe, which has recently partnered with GreenSet Worldwide, a world-leading company specialised in the hard surface primarily used in the ATP circuit facilities.
The aim of this partnership is to broaden the sports offer in Oliva Nova and to boost its position as a benchmark sports destination because of the quality of its facilities and the wide variety of sports that can already be practiced in the Resort: a 18-hole golf course designed by Seve Ballesteros; four FIFA quality standard natural grass pitches to practice football and rugby; an equestrian centre which hosts official competitions of showjumping and dressage, both national and international; cycling and running routes for all levels; water sports, etc. can be practised both amateur or professional.
The building works started in February and will be carried out by a local building company next to Oliva Nova Golf Club. The deadline is to open the new facilities by Easter. In addition, some projects arise from this partnership: a padel club and an academy will be set up in the Resort, as well as event and tournament organization in the facilities.
Michael Gradon from Game4Padel added: “Our members have been asking about padel holidays since we started operating and so this was a natural next step for us. The facilities are Oliva Nova will be second to none, and we are confident we can make the resort synonymous with padel.”
Game4Padel’s experience and know-how are essential to develop a first-level training offer and to promote sports holiday trips among its large contact network within the UK. “We go for sport as one of the foundation stones to help deseasonalise tourism in the area. We are sure that Oliva Nova will turn into one of the leading destinations to practice padel in Spain thanks to the partnership with Game4Padel and that’s why we want to keep on offering a top-quality sports experience to both fan and professional padel players”, states Luis Borho, the Resort GM.
