On 1st May, Oliva Nova’s heartbeat once again followed the pace of national athletics for the second year with a new Half Marathon+5K on 1st May, 2026, establishing itself as one of the growing events on the calendar.
HALF MARATHON OLIVA – OLIVA NOVA
In the longest distance, David Kiplagat’s triumph (1:04:39) set a new race record with Jesús Olmos crossing the finishing line in second place just ten seconds later. Edison Castellano completed the podium with a time of 1:09:34.
In the women’s category, victory went to Natalia Galisteo Romero with a time of 1:20:34, clearly winning a race where she kept up a constant pace from start to finish.
Beyond the elites, the growth in participation was another of the big headlines. The Oliva Nova 21K and 5K races are continuing to attract both experienced runners and amateurs, creating an inclusive atmosphere where competition and enjoyment are in perfect harmony.

5K OLIVA NOVA
This event gathered more than a thousand runners against a superb backdrop by the Mediterranean, where the main stars of the day included Xavi Cabanilles, who set his personal best (though Guillem Cuartero snatched the Spanish under-18 record from him by four seconds) on a circuit that continues to pride itself as an exemplary one for runners seeking to improve their performance.
But if there was one moment that raised the day to historic status, it was Edymar Brea’s run. The Venezuelan athlete achieved an extraordinary record that broke a new national record for her country, writing her name into the event’s history and making it clear that Oliva Nova sets the stage for great sporting milestones.
The race attracted more than a thousand runners and is becoming a fixture on the national Spanish calendar.
