Valencia is a charming city. It merges tradition and modernity. Dynamic, lively, welcoming and… in fashion! It has the perfect size (population is around one million people) and it avails the same cultural, leisure and transport services (metro, bus, tram, public bikes) as a large metropolis but in a friendlier size. There are many reasons to be the perfect city to go shopping too. If you like shopping, you are going to enjoy in Valencia. Among its shops, there are the major international brands.
The city centre is the shopping area par excellence. Avantgarde, tradition and fashion live together in the streets such as Colón, Poeta Querol, Don Juan de Austria, Jorge Juan, Cirilo Amorós, La Paz and in the surrounding streets.
For many different many reasons, the neuralgic point is in El Corte Inglés, the main shopping centre in the leading Spanish cities. There are four branches across Valencia and two of them are in the busiest shopping area of the city, the very centre of the city. The main establishment, as it was the first to be opened in the city and also because of its location, stands between the streets of Pintor Sorolla and Colón. It offers the best fashion, accessories and sport brands. Only a few metres away from it, located in one of the streets that forms the backbone of the shopping area in Valencia, there is another building by El Corte Inglés with 5 storeys dedicated to leisure (bookstore, travel agency…), technology or home projects. All together in two blocks. Apart from these, there are two other buildings by El Corte Inglés distributed around the city. One is in the western side of the city, right into the shopping centre Nuevo Centro; and the most modern building is located in the southern area, by the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias.
The best fashion brands, in the city centre
The most well-known companies and brands are located along Colón street and the surrounding streets, as well as around the Mercado de Colón. You may also find décor and exclusive jewellery stores.
