Oliva Nova Beach & Golf Resort is again the official headquarters for the 8th Marcha Alberto Contador, which is held on the 29th September. Oliva Nova is the starting and finishing line of a shorter route, but more demanding than last year. Cyclists will take part in a spectacular course of 167 km completely closed off to traffic during the whole route. Last year, there were over 1.000 participants in the race and it is expected to receive 2.000 participants in 2018. Oliva Nova has recently turned into the perfect destination for cyclo-tourists mainly because of the facilities that are offered by the resort -accommodation, bike garages, physiotherapists, kit men or gym- and the different kind of routes both road and mountain, together with the spectacular Mediterranean climate, sunny and warm almost all year round.
In order to boost the race internationally and gain more participants, Alberto Contador’s Foundation has reached an agreement with 312 Bike & Tours, company in charge of the organisation of the cyclo-tourist race Mallorca 312. This race has managed to consolidate as the most international race in the Spanish programme and also as one of the most demanding with almost 8.000 cyclist participating in the last race.
