Oliva Nova opened its equestrian center in 2012 with the aim of generating a new market and creating an additional activity to deseasonalize and diversify the tourist offer.

Located on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, the Oliva Nova Equestrian Center (CEON) is positioned at the height of the best international circuits and manages to attract every year the best riders in the world.

The most eagerly awaited events are the Spring MET and the Autumn MET, the international show jumping competitions held twice a year, which have become favorites on the national and international equestrian calendar due to the magnificent facilities and the weather conditions that accompany them.

This year, the spring competition scheduled between January 11 and April 24 could not take place as usual due to a health problem during Tour II in four of the participating horses.

CEON has thus become not only a perfect setting for competitions but also a place to enjoy a lifestyle that revolves around horses and their welfare. It has its own veterinary center, Sports Vet Clinic, directed by Pepe Simó, five-time Olympic veterinarian and one of the best specialists in equine sports medicine in Europe, and more than a thousand fully equipped stables.

This year’s eleventh edition of the spring competition took place between January 11 and April 24 and welcomed a total of almost a thousand entries from all over the world: 871 horses in Tour I, 982 in Tour II and 556 in Tour

IV, as well as riders of the stature of Frenchman Julien Épaillard, the current number 2 in the Longines Ranking; Belgian Jerome Guéry, individual silver medalist at the 2022 World Championships; or Swiss Steve Guerdat, gold medalist at the London Olympics. Other participants who did not want to miss the championship were the Spaniards Eduardo Álvarez Aznar, Sergio Álvarez Moya and Mariano Martínez Bastida, from the top 5 of the national ranking. The fall competition is scheduled from October 3 to December 17, 2023.

The Oliva Nova Equestrian Center has an area of 16 hectares divided between stables, maintenance area and exhibition area, the latter consisting of three arenas and a building for events and catering services, such as the Ocean’s restaurant or The Club.
